Alexandria's Chiaroscuro Portraits
I shoot in a painterly, chiaroscuro (Italian for "light-dark") style that is moodier and edgier than other head shots. Expressions and posing are in a traditional, somber style – a nod to timeless portraits of the past. My chiaroscuro style consists of dark backgrounds – though not exclusively –with (usually) a tight crop on the face and shoulders with flowing scarves and other subtle accents. Pets are also occasional clients. My backdrops are typically hand-painted, when not using black, and the styling is done in collaboration between myself and the client. While the results are formal, the sessions are casual and relaxed. Feel free to contact me with any questions. I work in Linn and Benton Counties.
